- Your
link takes him to Clickbank where he pays for the
e-Book using his credit card.
- Now,
you have already pre-configured your Clickbank account
so that the return-link for mybook.exe is:
http://www.YourSite.com/cbdp/thankyou.php

So, after Pirate-Pete credit card has been successfully
charged, Clickbank forwards him to http://www.YourSite.net/cbdp/thankyou.php
- Your
thank you page says:
Thank you for purchasing myebook.exe
Please click on the link(s) below to download your e-Book
and displays the download link(s) for the product(s) that your customer just paid for.
- Pete
clicks on the link, a "Save this file to disk"
window appears, and he saves it to his hard disk,
and starts reading your ebook..
Now this is
where ClickBank-Download-Protector is so unbelievably
important!
- Pete
thinks, "Hey, this ebook is great! The guys are
gonna love this stuff!"
He has already made a note of your thank you page
link.
He simply pastes it into an email:
http://www.YourSite.net/cbdp/thankyou.php
And e-mails it to all his friends, proudly mentioning
what a cool son-of-a-pirate he is and how they are
now saving money thanks to him - because they no longer
have to buy your e-book; they can simply download
it from your site!
- Pete's
slimy friends happily click over to the link
Pete sent them:
"DOWNLOAD ERROR!", says the page.
"S**t! Pete sent us the wrong link!",
thinks Sneaky Sam.
- Sneaky-Sam
e-mails Pirate-Pete that the link isn't working.

"Thank God", thinks Pete to himself,
"I bookmarked the landing page that Clickbank
sent me to". And he hurriedly tries to access
the thank you page that he has so "cleverly"
bookmarked.
"DOWNLOAD ERROR!", says the page
again!
- "Oh well, no worries, I have the email that has the links to the product on the web site", thinks Pirate-Pete. So, he opens his email and finds the links that look like this:
http://YourSite.com/cbdp/temp/SuperEbook.exe
"Gotcha!", says Pete and shoots of an email to his slimy friends.
- Sneaky-Sam gets the email and clicks on the link, only to get this error:
Not Found
The requested URL /cbdp/temp/SuperEbook.exe was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
- "Oh
man!", thinks Jim. "The stupid site won't
let me back in! Never mind, let me just forward the
ebook from my hard disk to Sam as an e-mail attachment..."
Zzzz...zzzip!
End of story!
Now that last part - where Pete sends your file to
Sam by e-mail - did you know that I have another script
